J. Richard Gividen
J. Richard "Rick"
Gividen is founder of Distance Learning Integrators (DLI),
an Arizona based firm specializing in the implementation and continuous
improvement of organizational distance learning programs. He is coauthor
of the best selling book, Distance Learning: A Step-by-Step Guide
for Trainers, published by the American Society for Training and
Development (ASTD). Prior to founding Distance Learning Integrators,
Rick served for over 15 years in varied training, information management
and leadership positions in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army National Guard
(ARNG). As the Distance Learning Officer for the ARNG, Rick planned,
managed and implemented distance learning training events to thousands
of personnel across the United States, as well as Puerto Rico and
the Virgin Islands. His work with the Government Alliance for Training
and Education (GATE) was instrumental in some of the first interagency
cooperative distance learning ventures in the U.S. federal government.
His engaging instructional style,
coupled with over 15 years of training technology and workplace
training experience have led to his popularity as a speaker at international
distance learning conferences and seminars.
