(Alexandria, VA) The American
Society for Training and Development (ASTD) has published a new guide, Distance
Learning: A Step-by-Step Guide for Trainers. The book, co-authored by
Distance Learning Integrators founder, J. Richard Gividen, is a comprehensive guide for
those implementing or seeking to improve an organizational distance learning program.
The
authors provide a number of checklists and case studies that help the readers to
understand how to select the best technologies, develop implementation strategies and
integrate distance learning within a training program. Mr. Gividen commented,
"We knew that distance learning was too comprehensive a topic to cover everything
in one book. We approached the subject from a training professional's perspective.
I believe we have provided the information and tools that are most likely to help
the reader avoid costly mistakes and save them months of effort they would have to expend
without the help of such a guide."
The book may be ordered directly from ASTD, 1640 King Street, Alexandria, VA
22313-2043, Phone (703)683-8100. The order code for the book is "MADL".
